Blended Learning is an American Red Cross® training format that combines online coursework completed at home with in-person, hands-on skills sessions. The online portion allows participants to learn core content at their own pace before class, so more time in person can be spent practicing skills, asking questions, and building confidence. This format is efficient, flexible, and helps students arrive better prepared, making the in-person training more focused, engaging, and successful.
Approximately two weeks before the in-person sessions, participants will receive a "Welcome" email from Trant Training with a link to the American Red Cross® Learning Center and instructions for accessing the online content that must be completed before attending the in-person sessions. Wherever you see "BL" in a course description, the course is a Blended Learning course.
The time required to complete online content varies by class. Please refer to the individual course descriptions for more information.
Completion of the online content before attending the in-person sessions is required to successfully pass the course.
If your class includes an American Red Cross Online Learning component, you must complete the online portion before attending your in-person class.
Do not wait until the day before your class to access your online learning.
As soon as you receive your Online Learning email, please click the link, set up or access your Red Cross account, and make sure you can successfully see your course.
Logging in early gives us time to help troubleshoot any issues before your class. If you wait until the last minute, we may not be able to resolve an account or access problem in time.
The Online Learning link sent to you by Trant Training is intended to get you enrolled in your course.
When prompted, either:
Log in to your existing Red Cross Learning Center account, or
Create a new account if you have never used the Red Cross Learning Center before.
Important: If you already have a Red Cross account, use the same email address and login information associated with that account whenever possible.
Once you have accessed your course, you should return to it through the Red Cross Learning Center, rather than using your original enrollment/voucher link.
Go to:
https://www.redcrosslearningcenter.org/
Then:
Log in using the same email address and password you used when you accessed the course
Select Classes
Select Classes I'm Taking
Open your course and continue where you left off
Your progress should save automatically.
Try these steps first:
Make sure you are using the same email address you used when you originally accessed the course.
Do not continue using the original enrollment/voucher link to try to return to a course you've already started.
Close your browser and reopen it.
Try using Google Chrome.
Select Forgot Password if you aren't sure of your login information.
Check whether you may have previously created a Red Cross account using another email address.
This is one of the most common issues we see.
If you've taken a Red Cross course in the past, you may already have a Red Cross Learning Center account. Occasionally, when participants access a new course, they accidentally create a second Red Cross account instead of logging into their existing one.
This can happen if you:
Use a different email address than you used previously
Create a new login instead of signing into your existing account
Have previously registered under a different version of your name or a nickname
If you end up with multiple Red Cross accounts, your course or previous certifications may be associated with a different login.
You will need to contact the American Red Cross Training Support Center for assistance with your login or account.

Follow the prompts for Training & Certification and indicate that you are having trouble with your login or Red Cross Learning Center account.

The Red Cross support team is typically very helpful with identifying existing accounts and resolving login issues.
If you can log into your Red Cross account but cannot see the course Trant Training assigned to you, please email brenda@tranttraining.com

We are happy to help with enrollment or course-access issues we can address.

We understand that plans can change, and it is not our intention to profit from participants who are unable to attend. However, due to the significant costs of running a course, including facility rental, staffing, and limited class capacity, the following policy applies. In addition, because our courses require completion of online prework in advance, late cancellations make it difficult to fill open spots with participants who have enough time to complete the required coursework.
100% refund for cancellations made 14+ days prior to the class start date
50% refund for cancellations made 7–13 days prior to the class start date
No refunds for cancellations made within 7 days of the class start date
We do not issue refunds if a participant did not complete the required online Blended Learning portion before class. Participants are responsible for accessing their online learning promptly and allowing adequate time to complete all required content before the scheduled in-person session. We strongly recommend logging in as soon as you receive the online learning link so you have time to resolve any access or login issues.
Transfers:
Participants may transfer to a future class (one time, subject to availability) if requested at least 7 days prior to the class start date
Transfer requests made within 7 days of the class start date are not guaranteed
Prerequisite Swim Test:
Participants who do not pass the prerequisite swim test are not eligible for a refund
We strongly encourage participants to carefully review the prerequisite requirements and only register if they are confident in their ability to meet them. The swim test is required by the certifying organization and cannot be waived.
Course Completion:
Participants who do not successfully complete the course are not eligible for a refund.
A transfer to a future class may be offered at our discretion, based on availability
Personal connection is a core value at Trant Training. We understand our courses require a meaningful time and financial commitment, and we want every participant to feel comfortable and prepared. Questions are always welcome, and we’re happy to help you decide if a course is the right fit.
