This page is dedicated to supporting Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructors. As an instructor trainer, I wanted to create a space refer instructor candidates to as they prepere for their Instructor course or as a support space to direct existing instructors to find information that I refer to in our class.
Lifeguard Instructor Manual r.2024 is a 930 page manual. Figuring out how to organize this was daunting. The first thing I decided is I did not want any 3 ring binder larger than 1" becasue they are too challenging to handle and when pages fall out the mess becomes a huge pain. I use blue binders for lifegauding and chose to use a dark blue for my most used binder which includes the blended learning class, the waterfront module and the recertification course. The organizartion is shown below.
IMPORTANT UPDATE: On Tuesday, February 6, 2024, the Red Cross Launched the r24 Program Update. As I become familiar with the materials, content and process, I have decided to carefully document what I am doing in the hopes of assisting others with the process.

Next I tackled my instructor trainer manual; at 430 pages, 2 white 1" binders worked well.
I used a similar stategie. Binder 1 is for administration and Binder 2 is for the course materials. Much more manageable.
I bring all 6 to an LGI Course.
